In Vedaranyam the primary attraction point of the city is Arulmigu Vedaranyeswara Swamy Temple. The temple has a history of Thousands of years. Built by Aditya Cholan. Here the main god lord Shiva and Parvati will be in Sivasakthi Thiru manam kolam. As said in Ramayana, Sri Ramar has worshipped at this temple along with his wife (Sita) and his Brother (Lakshman) for removing the Brahma Hathi dosham for killing the Ravanan the king of Sri Lanka. Although the temple was maintained properly and clean. Inside the temple itself there are goats, cows and bulls at goshala and also ducks. The temple pond was very clean with a lot of fish. Usually temple will be opened for dharshan at 6'0 AM till 9 PM. In between 12 PM to 4 PM no dharshan will be there

Very large temple. 3 temples were established by Shri Ram to remove the dosh of killing Ravan - Rameshwaram, Papnasham and Vedaranyam. This temple is also a Sapta Vidangam sthal and also a Panch Ratnasabha sthal. There is a separate Shakti shrine in premises which is mentioned as one of the 64 favourite shakti sthal of Ma Durga.

Divine bliss.very old temple. When this temple’s main door was closed by a king for more than many years, it was stuck and people afraid to forcefully as it might affect the Gopuram.
